As we stand at the threshold of the sesquicentennial celebrations of the Apostolic Carmel Congregation, we at Carmel Convent Chandigarh, commemorated this momentous occasion with Credence, meaning faith.
Credence was a five day bonanza of 25 competitions for the schools of the tricity. Each event was curated with a lot of thought to showcase various talents in the students. The event started with prayer and a brief introduction to the history of the Congregation and its foundress Mother Veronica. This was followed by the events of day.
On the first day of Credence two events were hosted simultaneously, namely Literati -an inter school elocution and personification competition and Math-e-Mania-a math quiz and exhibition.
The second day witnessed two events, Swaranjali – a Hindi Motivational Song Competition by the music department and Enchanté by department of French. This was a Personification Competition based on enactment of scenes from popular movies.
Day 3 saw competitions organized by the Departments of Science, Technology and Hindi. The Science events included role play, Powerpoint presentations, model making and display. The Computer Science department hosted a technology quiz, while the department of Hindi conducted Poetry recitation.
On the fourth day The Social Sciences Department organized the Parliamentary Debate and Role Play competitions. The Fine Arts department conducted an array of creative and innovative activities with the aim of showcasing the artistic talents of the participants.
