The Go Green Eco Club of Carmel Convent School, Chandigarh, organised an Eco Exhibition on 3 October 2026. The exhibition provided a platform for students to showcase the creative work and environmental initiatives undertaken during Term I.

The students enthusiastically displayed a wide range of handmade products crafted from recycled, reused, and eco-friendly materials. These included bags made from old jeans and clothes, decorative wall hangings, dolls, table mats, flowers, and soft toys made using crochet. Beautiful utility and decorative items crafted from coconut shells and bamboo were also exhibited, highlighting the importance of sustainable alternatives to plastic and other non-biodegradable materials.

The students further demonstrated their creativity by transforming discarded plastic bottles into decorative pots and flowers. A striking cherry blossom tree made from old newspapers and tissues was another eye-catching exhibit, showcasing how waste materials can be converted into beautiful works of art. The highlight of the exhibition was the impressive collection of bamboo products, which emphasised the versatility of natural and sustainable materials.

Adding a meaningful social dimension to the event, the school also invited Vatika, an NGO that works with children with disabilities, including hearing and speech impairments. The children showcased and sold their handmade candles, offering visitors an opportunity to appreciate their creativity, skills, and entrepreneurial spirit. Their participation reinforced the values of inclusion, dignity, and empowerment.

The exhibition received appreciation for the students’ innovative efforts and commitment to environmental conservation. It successfully conveyed the message of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, encouraging everyone to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives.
