Mother Earth Day, celebrated annually on April 22, 2026 is a global initiative to promote environmental protection and create awareness about the importance of preserving our planet. To mark this significant occasion, the Primary Wing of Carmel Convent School, Chandigarh, organized a “Best Out of Waste” competition. The event aimed to instill the values of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle among young learners and encourage them to adopt eco-friendly habits from an early age.
Students from Classes I to V participated enthusiastically in the competition. Using materials such as old newspapers, plastic bottles, cardboard, and discarded household items, the children displayed remarkable creativity and innovation. The activity highlighted how waste materials can be transformed into useful and decorative items, reinforcing the concept of sustainable living. Such competitions help students understand the importance of recycling and resource conservation in protecting the environment.
