A workshop on HIV/AIDS and Drug Abuse was organised by Maam Meenu from GMSH sector 16 Chandigarh on 1 October 2026  for Class 9 to create awareness among students about HIV/AIDS, its prevention, transmission and the harmful effects of drug abuse.

The session focused on providing students with correct and age-appropriate information about HIV/AIDS and clearing common myths and misconceptions related to the disease. The resource person explained the importance of healthy habits, personal safety, responsible choices and seeking timely medical help.
The workshop also highlighted the harmful physical, psychological and social effects of drug abuse. Students were made aware of the risks associated with substance use and the importance of staying away from addictive substances. They were encouraged to develop positive habits, choose healthy peer groups and seek guidance from parents, teachers or trusted adults whenever needed.

The interactive session included discussion and question-answer activities, which helped students understand the topics better. The workshop was informative and beneficial in promoting awareness, responsible behaviour and a healthy lifestyle among the students.The programme concluded with a message to stay informed, make healthy choices and contribute towards a safe and drug-free society.
