World Environment Day Celebration report
The Department of French, Carmel Convent School, Chandigarh, celebrated World Environment Day on 5 June 2026 through an online programme aimed at spreading awareness about environmental conservation and sustainable living.
The event was graced by distinguished guests, including environmentalist Mr. Amit Shah, Dr. Arushi Gahlot Saini, Additional Professor of Paediatric Neurology at PGIMER, Chandigarh, and Mr. Gagandeep Singh, PCS Officer and SDM, Sunam.The guests shared valuable insights on environmental protection, responsible citizenship, and the importance of creating a sustainable future. Their inspiring words encouraged students to become more conscious of their role in preserving the environment.
The programme featured a variety of creative presentations and activities, including a dance performance, a cleanliness drive, an environment-themed song, a photography showcase, a quiz, and innovative Best Out of Waste creations. The "Each One, Plant One" initiative further highlighted the importance of individual responsibility towards a greener planet.
The celebration concluded with an environmental pledge and a vote of thanks. The event proved to be both informative and inspiring, motivating everyone to contribute towards a cleaner, greener, and healthier world.
