The teachers of Carmel High School pulled out all the stops to present an exceptional programme on Children’s Day. The celebration began with prayers and hymns to invoke the presence of the Almighty within and around the students and their families, followed by a vibrant welcome dance.
The Sisters presented a group song after which there was an action-packed round of Antakshari, filling the hall with enthusiastic singing and clapping from the students. The Bollywood dance sequence further energized the audience, drawing applause and cheerful participation. Humorous videos, engaging presentations, and melodious songs added both charm and entertainment to the event. The Punjabi dance proved to be a major highlight, with students joyfully singing along to every lyric. Short comic sketches and a lively skit kept the children laughing throughout.
A fashion show was next and it showcased sartorial flair and creativity, also Sister Shanta and Sister Premalini joined in, much to the delight of the students. For the first time, the school’s workers along with Sister Shanta and Sister Premalini, presented a traditional tribal dance, which the students thoroughly enjoyed. The programme concluded with a high-energy Gidda performance, providing a fitting finale to the celebration.
On this occasion, Principal Sister Shanta Fernandes addressed the students, appreciating their hard work during the recent Annual Day. Speaking on behalf of the management and staff, she thanked them for their constant love and respect. As a special treat, the students enjoyed dancing with their teachers. Shaunya Sood, the school pupil leader, thanked the teachers for their effort in making the day special for students. Later, class teachers distributed chocolates and conducted fun games in the classrooms making the day truly memorable.
