A Visit to Verka Milk Plant

On 6th August 2025, the students of Class VI visited the Verka Milk Plant Mohali as part of their Science  field trip. The trip aimed to give students practical knowledge about milk processing and dairy products.

Upon arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by the plant officials. They were shown around different sections of the plant, including the milk reception area, pasteurization unit, packaging section, and cold storage. The guide explained how milk is collected from farmers, tested for quality, pasteurized to remove harmful bacteria, and finally packed in hygienic conditions.

Students were amazed to see the modern machines working efficiently. They also learned about the production of other dairy items such as butter, cheese, curd, and ice cream. The visit highlighted the importance of cleanliness, quality checks, and technology in food processing.

The trip ended with refreshments, including a glass of chilled Verka milk for each student. The visit was both informative and enjoyable, helping students connect their classroom lessons with real-life applications.

 Class VIII Visits the Botanical Garden, Sarangpur

On 7th August 2025, 148 students of ClassVIII, Carmel Convent School, Chandigarh, went on a field trip to the Botanical Garden in Sarangpur. The trip was organized to help students learn about different types of plants and their environments. The students were accompanied by Ma’am Archana Puri, Ma’am Ritu Yadav, and Sister Maria Lizanne. The trip was coordinated by Mr. Pramod Sharma, President of the NGO Yuvsatta, in collaboration with Mr. Bhupinder Singh, Range Officer. At the garden, the group was guided by Sir Sandeep Chahal, a botanical instructor.

During the visit, students explored three main sections of the garden. The first was Bonsai World, where miniature trees were displayed and basic information about bonsai cultivation was shared. Next, they visited the Aquatic Plants Section, which featured plants that grow in water, such as lotuses and lilies. The final section was the Nursery Area, which included flowering and medicinal plants along with informational boards. The students listened to short explanations in each section and observed the plants closely. The visit lasted a few hours and provided practical learning outside the classroom.

Eco Club Members(Class IX) Visit the Botanical Garden

On 8th August 2025, the CCS Eco Club comprising class IX students and their respective class teachers, visited the Botanical Garden. Mr Sandeep Chahal, Forest Department, gave a guided tour of the bonsai garden, the aquatic section, cactus garden and the garden's nursery. Mr Bhupinder Singh, RO, Forest Department also gave a talk to the students about the need to preserve diversity and motivated them to keep contributing to help maintain the greenery around. It was a very informative and enriching experience for the students.
