Starting from the 6th of August, 2025, various activities marked the celebrations of Independence Day at Carmel Convent School. Students took part in Tiranga Rakhi-Making, Independence Day Exhibition Showcasing India’s Glory, a quiz about the history and significance of the Tiranga, letter writing to thank Jawans and Police Personnel in the Spirit of the Tiranga.
On the 8th of August the Tiranga Rangoli making activity, The Tiranga tree decoration, an inter squad Bulletin Board decoration competition took place
Tying Handmade Rakhis to Police , Defence Personnel and other members of society took place on the 9th of August. On the 11th of August the school organised the Tiranga Yatra, where students along with the staff members proudly marched outside the school while holding a very long tri coloured fabric symbolising the Indian national flag.
The Independence Day celebrations commenced on August 15 with the flag hoisting ceremony, followed by the national anthem sung by the entire school as the school band played along. A warm welcome was extended to our esteemed chief guests, Ms. Lovey Singh and Ms. Vandana Sharma, both respected educators from our school. Another distinguished guest was Mr. Pramod Sharma, Founder of Yuvsatta, an NGO empowering youth for peace and global citizenship. The cultural program began with prayers for the nation, a graceful prayer dance in the classical Bharatnatyam style by the students of Class XI. The students of Primary wing sang some awe inspiring patriotic songs. The programme continued with a moving play written and directed by the students of Class XI, a self composed poem in Hindi and an inspiring address by a student on the theme of ‘Viksit Bharat’, reflecting aspirations for a developed India. The school's NSS and NCC members, dressed smartly in their uniform, sang their official songs. This was followed by an energetic Garba dance performance by class XI, and then the students of the Primary wing performed an electrifying Bhangra.
The program concluded with the felicitation ceremony for the students of Kitab Ghar(Bapu Dham Colony Sector 26) with the highest attendance, they received brand new bicycles as prizes. The principal Sister Shanta appreciated the enthusiasm and perseverance of the students and encouraged them to keep up the good work.
