On April 30, 2026, Carmel Convent School celebrated Labour Day, a Hindi Department activity, and the superannuation of Mr. Om Prakash in the school auditorium. Students of Classes VI to XII witnessed the programme, which began at 8:30 a.m.

The Labour Day celebration honoured the invaluable contribution of the support staff. A special highlight was the felicitation of Mr. Om Prakash on his superannuation after 39 years of dedicated service. He was honoured by the Manager and the Principal with a plaque, a gift, and a card along with a planter. Deeply moved, he received a standing ovation for his sincerity, punctuality, and quiet dedication.

The programme was conducted by the students of Class XII, who presented a vibrant cultural segment including a dance, a melodious choir, a short skit, and fun games for the workers, who also won prizes. A cheerful ramp walk added excitement to the celebration, making it a memorable and meaningful occasion for all.

In addition to that, the Hindi Department organized a Katha Vaachan Pratiyogita for Classes VI to X to promote confidence and a love for Hindi literature. Students participated enthusiastically, presenting stories with creativity and clarity. The event was judged by Ms. Anju Ma’am and Ms. Meenu Palta, and concluded with the distribution of certificates and trophies. The winners of the English Day competitions were also awarded trophies by the school Manager, Sr. Isabella Fernandes and Principal, Sr. Shanta Fernandes .The programme concluded amidst the thunderous applause for the heart warming speech by the Principal, Sr. Shanta Fernandes, in hindi which was laced with wit and humour, to appreciate all the workers of Carmel .
