As a part of Social Awareness Week and Community Outreach Week, the Ekta Squad Representatives, Ms. Teena and Ms. Ashmeet, along with a group of students, visited the SOREM Institute, Sector 36-C, Chandigarh on the 2nd of December. The visit aimed to help students understand the importance of inclusivity, empathy, and social responsibility.
During the visit, our students interacted with differently-abled children and observed the various vocational skills they had acquired. The SOREM children showcased handmade items such as craft products, decorative materials, and utility items. To support and encourage their efforts, the Carmel students purchased these products as a gesture of charity and appreciation.
Following the visit to SOREM, the Ekta Squad Representatives and students proceeded to PGI, where they distributed eatables to the needy. This act of kindness helped develop compassion and a sense of service among the students. The initiative proved to be a meaningful experience, fostering values of empathy, generosity, and social responsibility among the participants.
