The International Youth Day is celebrated on August 12 each year to recognize the importance and the contribution of the youth towards the global society. At Carmel, a special program was organized in the auditorium by the students of class X. Starting with prayers and hymns for the youth of our school, the country, and the world, the program also showcased a motivational video focused on the impact of hardwork and perseverance. This was followed by a short speech to honor the philosopher and spiritual leader, Swami Vivekanand. While commemorating his birthday, the students talked about his contributions to inspire youth with his teachings and ideals. “This is my Fight Song” sung by school choir was another motivating addition to the program. The highpoint however, were the video messages sent in by some ex students, they had a common underlying theme of using the opportunities at school well, and imbibing Carmel values. The principal Sister Shanta’a address was next, and she appreciated the class teachers and students of class X for organizing a meaningful program. She also emphasized the need for the youth to lead a disciplined and value based life in order to succeed.

The Principal felicitated the students who won prizes in the two competitions organized by the Literary and Book Club-“Bookmark Making” and “Book Cover Designing”. After this everyone took a pledge to uphold the ideals and values always.The program concluded with the singing of the national anthem.
